Peggy R. Williams Difficult Dialogues Symposium
Sheryl WuDunn, the first Asian American to win a Pulitzer Prize, is a business executive, entrepreneur, and best-selling author. With her husband, New York Times columnist Nicholas D. Kristof, she has coauthored three best-selling books. The most recent is Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide, which focuses on the challenges facing women and girls in developing countries and was featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show and theColbert Report.
WuDunn will discuss her book and engage us in a difficult-to-digest dialogue focused on such issues as forced prostitution and sex slavery among women and girls. A book signing and reception will follow the event.

The event is free and open to the public; advance registration is not required.
The symposium is named in honor of President Emerita Peggy R. Williams, who has been an advocate for dialogue about complex and controversial issues of the time and a staunch defender of academic freedom and active, open inquiry.
